Criar e mesclar: a arte de contrastar texturas

Abstract

Fashion is a complex and evolutive process that seeks to transmit and contribute to the identity formation, as well as wishes and preferences. This field, putting in evidence it's interdisciplinarity, uses it's easy connections with other areas to link different elements such as forms, colors and textures. Combined with creativity and the human senses such as touch and sight, the texture widely found in our day to day, is understood as any relief on a surface and can be a great ally in any product development and design. Thinking about this, the present work seeks to define the concept of the texture as well as identify it's subdivisions and, from them, develop a fashion brand which the essence is to bound and mix all the different reliefs and drawings made with fabric for the composition of a piece, showing the 3-dimensionality that this technique provides. For that, the selected methodology is the experimental, using tools such as laser machines to cut and create textures on the surface through manual work. By using experiments and the study of butterflies’ forms it was possible to create two textures – a square and a rounded one – with three different sizes that were applied in the surface of the pieces from the overlaying of small pieces of fabric.
