Ensino de ciências e experimentos nos anos iniciais do ensino fundamental: uma atividade investigativa sobre a mastigação

Abstract

This study discusses the importance of working with Science Teaching with children in the Early Years of Elementary Education and presents possible contributions from investigative teaching and scientific experiments in the teaching and learning of concepts. After a brief theoretical study, a SEI (Investigative Teaching Sequence) was developed, developed in 2018 with 20 students from the 5th year of a municipal public school in the city of Agudos / SP. This SEI was about the Digestive System, with a focus on studying the importance of chewing. For this study, the children initially answered what they knew about the Digestive System, and participated in two experiments: "Saliva Production" and "Chewing". The participation of students was described and the records of all participants in the second experiment on Chewing, the focus of this work, were transcribed and presented. In addition, there was the study of schemes of the human body, informative texts and others. After the studies, the children answered the questions about the Digestive System again and it was found that learning close to the scientific could be found. The entire SEI was analyzed based on a dialogue between the students' records and the theoretical framework, presenting the contributions and possible obstacles in this practical work in the classroom.
