Abstract

This work is the development of Cultural Institute of Curitiba that will be deployed in the city of Curitiba. The proposal came from the observation of the lack of a place that encourages the preservation of the cultural identity of the city, in order to maintain a relationship with the City of society through culture. For the preparation of project studies and surveys were conducted through a methodology of literature research and field research , where issues relating to the importance of preserving cultural values , material and immaterial order were found , linking them directly with tourism . Entered on the main topic issues about the importance of cultural identity, the identity of a place, the tangible and intangible cultural heritage, tourism and urban itinerary, the importance of an institute on the cultural management. Also was commented about the relationship of Curitiba with tourism, since the city's history as well as the tourist attractions, the projection of tourist demand, the typology of applied tourism and tourist potential of the city. Based on analysis of correlates related to the topic of the proposed project and it was possible to define which areas are relevant to compose a program needs as well as the projective intentions comprising the first stage of the research work of the WLG and I will be conceptual basis used for the development of architectural design, which will be developed in WLG II. So this WLG is considered an integral part of the work to be presented at WLG II.
