Abstract

This paper reaches the goal to develop the project of an Urban Agriculture Center in Curitiba, focusing on agricultural production in the urban context. It is intended to create a multifunctional building that supports the practices of cultivating a vertical farm, also containing pedagogical environments and a public market. The research was developed through analyzes of theoretical references, with aiming to understand the concepts of food safety, how urban agriculture occurs and its historical development, the methods of cultivation used and what aspects are necessary to carry out the cultivation in buildings, based on case studies. After this analysis, it is sought to understand the context of urban agriculture in Curitiba and in what urban reality this building will be inserted, establishing where will be the area of implementation of the project. Finally, the project guidelines were established, taking into account all the aspects analyzed in the course of the research.
