Atualização das normas de segurança química na indústria farmacêutica: conformidade com a ABNT NBR 14725/2023

Abstract

This work has as its main objective the readjustment of Safety Data Sheets (SDS) for Chemical Products in the pharmaceutical industry, in accordance with the ABNT NBR 14725:2023 standard. The update was carried out for the three substances with the highest production volume in the company, ensuring that the new SDS fully met regulatory requirements. In addition to the transposition of the documents, the study addressed the review and standardization of the Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) related to the management of the SDS, considering the changes introduced by the standard. The methodology applied included a detailed analysis of the existing Safety Data Sheets, the adaptation of information to the new format, and the evaluation of the need for data supplementation, such as the inclusion of the property "Particle Characteristics." The new SOP, developed in collaboration with professionals from the Health, Safety, and Environment (HSE) sector of the studied company, structured a standardized flow for the request, receipt, and updating of the SDS, ensuring greater control and safety in the management of chemical products. The results indicated that the adaptation of the SDS and the implementation of the new SOP not only ensured regulatory compliance but also improved the clarity and accessibility of safety information, strengthening the protection of employees and the efficiency of operational processes.
