Percepção de adolescentes do ensino fundamental sobre a gravidez na adolescência

Abstract

Teenage pregnancy is considered a public health problem worldwide, and this fact can not be ignored by the teachers, because all teaching and learning institutions have as social function, the job to transmit scientific knowledge and interfere with the educational learning process. Many education professionals have difficulty working the sexuality theme in schools, this research is aimed to investigate the eight grade student’s perception about the controversial teenage pregnancy, in order to search for subsidies that will help teachers build with these students a critical awareness through educational measures, to provide knowledge regarding teen pregnancy, its implications, emphasizing the importance of prevention and also the exercise of responsible parenthood. The research occurred by applying a semi-open questionnaire for 34 students. The survey results indicate that 91% of respondents students know teenagers who became pregnant between 12 and 18 years, of these 91% also consider disturbing a teenage pregnancy because agree that this event can interfere your professional and personal future. Of the adolescents interviewed, 70% are between 13 and 14 years and during the lecture held at the school, had a lot of curiosity about it. Therefore, it is necessary to pursue the matter, always seek new ways to reach these adolescents, guiding them about the consequences of early pregnancy.
