Produção e valor nutritivo de Panicum maximum Jacq. cv. Miyagui manejada sob duas alturas de resíduo

Abstract

The present study was conducted at Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná – Dois Vizinhos campus, aiming to evaluate dry matter and nutritional value production of Panicum maximum Jacq. cv. Miyagui managed under two heights of residue. The treatments were distributed in a completely randomized design in a 2 x 2 factorial scheme (cultivars x height of residue). The study was divided in two parts: the first one corresponds to the evaluation of production of dry matter in the field, with manual collections, when the quota reached an average of 95% light interception. The second part was executed in the food analysis laboratory at the same institution, to determine contents of the dry matter, mineral matter, neutral detergent and acid insoluble fiber, crude protein and dry matter digestibility. The production of green and dry matter did not differ (P>0,05) to different heights of residue, however, the productions were distinct (P<0,05) to the seasons during the year. The cut interval was influenced (P<0,05) by the height of residue in the spring and summer seasons. Dry matter content did not differ (P>0,05) for different heights but did differ throughout the seasons. Mineral matter varied (P<0,05) according to the heights of residue and seasons of the year. Crude protein did not present difference (P>0,05) for different heights and seasons of the year. The height of residue did not influence (P>0,05) neutral detergent and acid insoluble fiber content, however, it presented difference (P<0,05) for the seasons through the year. The contents of neutral detergent and acid insoluble fiber and digestibility were influenced (P<0,05) by the height of residue and seasons of the year. The cv. Miyagui presented high production of dry matter with high nutritional value regardless of residue high when evaluated in the southwestern region on Paraná.
