| Resumo: | A pesquisa analisou os livros de ficção científica O Homem do Castelo Alto, O Tempo em Marte e Ubik, escritos na década de sessenta por Philip K. Dick. Buscou-se fazer uma análise interdisciplinar para compreender as relações complexas entre tecnologia, ficção científica e o futuro. A partir daí, tornou-se possível interpretar as narrativas, com o auxílio dos estudos teóricos das categorias apontadas e do pensamento crítico. Pretende-se estudar os três livros de Dick com a fixação das premissas históricas que atuam no simbolismo das narrativas desta época. Discute-se como as dificuldades de distinguir o real do irreal estão representadas nos três livros e quais suas relações com a tecnologia, com a utopia e com a constituição do momento histórico vivenciado ao longo da década de sessenta. O objetivo é identificar como as obras, apesar de apresentarem alterações representacionais radicais, criticam a sociedade americana nos anos sessenta e suas contradições, ainda presentes na atualidade, para delimitar o que a ficção científica revela sobre as relações entre a tecnologia, a utopia e o futuro, já que influencia e é influenciada por essas categorias. |
| Abstract: | The research is going to analyze the science fiction books The Man in The High Castle, Martian Time Slip and Ubik, written in the sixties by Philip K. Dick. An interdisciplinary analysis is sought to understand the complex relationships between technology, science fiction and the future. From then on, it becomes possible to interpret the narratives, with the help of theoretical studies of the indicated categories and critical thinking. It is intended to study Dick’s three books with the establishment of the historical premises that act in the symbolism of the narratives of this time. It discusses how the difficulties of distinguishing the real from the unreal are represented in the three books and what their relationships are with technology, with utopia and with the constitution of the historical moment experienced throughout the sixties. The objective is to identify how the works, despite presenting radical representational alterations, criticize American society in the sixties and its contradictions, still present today, to delimit what science fiction reveals about the relations between technology, utopia and the future, since it influences and is influenced by these categories. |
