Análise semiótica de poemas de Baudelaire musicados por Debussy

Abstract

This thesis will analyse two songs of the oeuvre Cinq Poèmes de Baudelaire, that features poetical texts by Baudelaire posteriorly set to music by Debussy, through a semiotic point of view. In this way, bibliographical research concerning the presence of this oeuvre in semiotics studies, as well in other areas, will be done. Also, semiotic studies that work with verbal and musical texts will be contemplated in this research. This thesis will be based on Greimas’s (1979, 1993), Barros’s (2005) and Tatit’s (2007) semiotic concepts, as well as on literary concepts by Candido (1996), Friedrich (1978) and Benjamin (2009), as additional help in the determination of signification. The generative process in both musical and verbal parts of the oeuvre will be compared, aiming at finding a proximity of senses.
