Abstract

The advent of artificial intelligence and its ramifications have impacted several sectors of the economy redefining some activities as we know. Regarding Civil Engineering, especially construction management, there have been many efforts in recent history to optimize tasks known to be notoriously ineffective in this field. This monograph seeks to perform an analytical analysis of applications of artificial intelligence specifically in the areas of Planning, Progress Management, Cost Management and Risk Management. The aim is to achieve this objective through a thorough bibliographical review of the topic and the evaluation of case studies that scientifically measured the gains from using this technology. That said, the study revealed a great potential for AI in certain areas of construction management, appearing as a tool capable of substantial productivity gains in the sector.
