Avaliação do grau de maturidade BIM em três escritórios BIM de engenharia em Curitiba-PR

Abstract

The BIM (Building Information Modeling) methodology has been spreading with great intensity in the AECO (Architecture, Engineering, Construction and Operation) industry market, with this, several difficulties arise in an attempt to enjoy its benefits. In general, the implementation has several changes that result in the failure of companies that do not establish a strategy, thus, understanding the processes and difficulties of BIM implementation are decisive factors for success in this endeavor. In this sense, this paper aimed to investigate BIM implementation and its difficulties by assessing the BIM Maturity Level and discussing the next procedures to achieve a higher level. Through the investigations performed in the literature review, and the use of the methodology created by Succar, it was possible to perform this assessment in three offices that use BIM as a case study. Through the analysis of the results, it was possible to verify the effectiveness of the BIM Maturity Matrix (BIM³) to evaluate the BIM Maturity Level and to observe the main points of improvement in the BIM implementation of each office, as well as their main difficulties. Thus, it is expected that other companies can use this study to understand and improve their BIM Maturity Level and that this work serves as a stepping stone for future research on BIM implementation.
