Avaliação da encontrabilidade da informação do repositório institucional da Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná

Abstract

Considering the need for frequent evaluation of the digital information environments linked to the Institutions of Education and Research, in order to promote facilities in the available information available, this research presents the results of the evaluation of the Institutional Repository of the Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná, which uses the software DSpace. The objective was to identify the possible difficulties associated with the availability of available information in the said digital information environment that may be associated with the software used or the implemented customization. For the data collection, a checklist was used based on the attributes of information availability, which allowed the evaluation to be carried out from the perspective of the librarians. Among the results, it is necessary to invest in accessibility resources and information discovery mechanisms, which can be implemented in DSpace, besides promoting greater participation of users in relation to the content available in the repository through folksonomy, functionality already present in said software.
