Políticas públicas para reforma agrária, desafios e possibilidades: estudo de caso do Assentamento Euclides Neto em Mata de São João Bahia

Abstract

This research has focused Public Policy for Agrarian Reform and its main goal was to analyze the impacts caused by the implementation of public policies in the settlement that belongs to Mata de São João BA, called Euclides Neto. We attempted to reconstruct the historical process of occupation and Farm Gamelleira Carijó Angle through a dialogical process with the subjects who were the protagonists of this process. The methodology for data collection was a case study by analyzing the Law 4,504 status of the Earth, the PNRA I and II - National Programme of Agrarian Reform, document analysis, literature review, interviews and reconstruction of the historical process of occupation through conversations with settlers who took part in the 1999 occupation of the farm belonging to SIBRA - Electro Brazilian Steel to ensure the agrarian reform of a large landed estate of 222,9 acres which now houses 76 families of settled family farmers.
