Abstract

The objective of this study was to assess the feasibility of fish farming in Small Rural Property in the City of Four Bridges in western Paraná. In order to evaluate the potential of growing tilapia in ponds, increasing income for small family farms, where it was reported spreadsheet data from a producer. As a methodology, it is based upon a survey of some existing data in the office of agriculture's own city and also in literature and documented sources of Embrapa, Emater on site and Fisheries Ministry, Itaipu and books. From these data was applied an exploratory, descriptive and qualitative nature of literature. Through field research were interviewed seven local fish farmers, identifying functional activities in fish farming, like the blade of water, cultivation techniques, the economic viability of the crop species. Verified employment of family labor in the final cost of small production modules and inputs such as feed. He also observed that there is a Public Policy in the city and a lack of local technical assistance.
