Orçamento participativo municipal e o desinteresse da população no exercício cidadão de participar

Abstract

This study aims to contribute to the exercise of popular participation in the Participatory Budgeting in Campo Mourão town-Paraná. As a problem, it is noted that there is not a lot of interest in part of the population in this issue. It was carried a quantitative research, through questionnaires answered by residents, randomly, of neighborhoods Alvorada, Cidade Alta and Cidade Nova. The objective was to know what the level of knowledge of the population in the participation and implementation of participatory budgeting in the county. The data shows that more than a half of the residents interviewed are unaware the implementation of participatory budgeting in the municipal. It is, therefore, necessary greater transparency in the participation of government agencies, with the intention to increase the interest of the population of neighborhoods for community development and the participation of the citizens in the exercise.
