Abstract

This paper presents an approach of comparison between the theory and the practice on the concepts that leads the idealization, planning and implementation of a project for the improvement of the time register control performed at Divisão de Recursos Humanos (DRH) at Grupamento de Infraestrutura e Apoio de São José dos Campos (GIA-SJ), an institute that composes the Departamento de Ciência e Tecnologia Aeroespacial (DCTA) in São José dos Campos. Discuss the principles in project management, its ways, as well its usage in different organizations presenting its correlations with the stages experienced by the project team in this research. Presents concepts on preparation, strategies and obstacles to the project management on organizations. Discuss the difficulties to the implementation of projects and actions to overcome them based on the specific literature on this subject and in the analysis of the PMBoK guide. Complemented by a field research, the study perceived through the application of a questionnaire, enterview, document analysis and by participative and unsystematic observation of the researcher, the obstacles that the team responsible for the time register control faced, how this subject became a project and how they perceived the development of the various stages for its implementation. Offers as a result of the study an evaluation on the impact caused in the project for the usage of the techniques and tools suggested by theories in Project Management that were studied.
