Análise do nível de letramento científico de alunos do 3º ano do ensino médio de uma escola pública do município de Rancho Alegre no Paraná

Abstract

Technology and science are constantly advancing, so students at the end of their school years should be trained not only for the job market, but also with skills that place them as critical and active citizens in society. For this, they must be scientifically literate, that is, from all the knowledge acquired, must provide skills to be able to discuss and argue about phenomena that involve their social life, with the ability to interpret scientific technical information and use them in resolution Its problems and the society in which it is inserted. Therefore, the objective of this research was to investigate the level of scientific literacy related to the sciences / chemistry knowledge of students of the 3rd year of high school in a school in the north of Paraná. For that, a questionnaire was applied with 5 questions referring to the dissertation part and 4 questions to the objective, all based on research carried out by the International Student Assessment Program (PISA). The results showed that few students were able to reach the maximum level of scientific literacy when all the results were compared. Still according to the results, it can be affirmed that even though they did not reach level 4, most of the students managed to reach at least level 1 of literacy, which was due to the fact that they were able to interpret the statements and to withdraw important information from the questions For the formulation of the answers. These results highlight the need to broaden the studies in this context and to improve the students' education in order to make them scientifically literate.
