Riscos em atividades de uma obra rodoviária: análise em obra de mobilidade urbana na região metropolitana de Curitiba

Abstract

The construction industry is one of the oldest branches of the world and, historically, a sector that has high rates of work accidents. Due to this fact, and the particular nature of construction work and the temporary nature of the work centers, the issue of health and safety is of paramount importance. In addition, there is a difficulty in managing the risk of accidents in the works due to the mobility of the work that crosses different urban or rural regions, each one with its own peculiarities, and also to labor often without previous experience. This paper aims, therefore, apply a risk management tool, the Preliminary Hazard Analysis (PHA) at a road construction project in order to make a survey of the risks to which employees are exposed in this work. To achieve this goal were chosen four main activities considered in the work in Curitiba, component of the set of works of urban mobility, where the APR was applied individually to each one of these activities. As a result, we obtained a long list of risks to which employees are exposed and also the causes, consequences, frequency, severity, index risk and preventive measures related to these risks. With this, it’s possible to observe the importance of applying the APR to a road construction project, as it was previously possible to identify the risks to which employees are exposed and thus prevent and minimize the work accidents.
