Aplicação do ciclo PDCA para redução de surplus em estoque da divisão de peças de reposição de uma indústria automotiva pesada

Abstract

In order to remain competitive in the parts distribution sector, companies must always be attentive to their stock’s health with the same keen they look at the quality of their product. Keeping obsolete and low-cost parts in stock increases the total value of stored parts and decreases the space available on shelves for new products that could represent more revenue for the company. This paper presents an application of a continuous improvement tool called PDCA Cycle (Plan, Do, Check, and Act) to provide a surplus solution for the stock of an auto parts distribution company. At the end of the study, space and financial gains, achieved by the project’s implementation, were identified, those gains represent around R$ 700.000 on savings and clear around 18 shelves on stock space.
