Aplicação do método do PCI - Paviment Conditions Index: para determinação de serviços de restauração e manutenção em um trecho da Avenida Tupi de Pato Branco - PR

Abstract

The pavement deteriorates over time mainly due to traffic and weather conditions. Thus, there are the emergence of defects of various types that negatively impact on the rolling conditions of the track. . This work uses the PCI Method to analyze the conditions of a stretch of Tupi Avenue with six years of use. To accomplish this task, it is necessary to describe the types of defects, their severities and extent, to define the pavement conditions and to make a traffic count in order to characterize the flow of vehicles. By analyzing the results obtained, it is noticed that the studied pavement is in a very good condition, however, we suggest maintenance activities, such as patches, sealing cracks and applying a micro coating in order to increase the pavement useful life and reduce higher costs in a few years. Finally, it was verified that the evaluation method was useful, since it corresponded to the reality and the expected results, so future interventions may be adopted in the way.
