Estudo prévio da instalação de uma pequena central hidrelétrica no manancial do rio Pato Branco no estado do Paraná

Abstract

This work aimed to evaluate the possibility of installing a small hydroelectric plant in the Pato Branco river analyzing the possible effects caused by this development and the observation of some physiographic aspects, such as area, perimeter, form, coefficient compactness, circularity index, drainage density, slope of the the river, vegetation, use of the soil, topography and surveying to verify geometric gap between the dam and powerhouse. All these data assist in interpreting the results of hydrological studies, has a direct influence on the behavior of the watershed and hence the flow regime of the main watercourse. The drainage area of the watershed is 291,5 Km² and altitude variation between the source and the dam is 320 meters representing an average slope of 7.2 m / Km. In the process determining the classification of waterways used the methodology proposed by Arthur N. Strahler basin and is ranked as the fourth order. The flow rate was obtained from the Q7,10 which one is 26 I/s/Km² for the region under study, totaling 7.6 m³ / s. After closure the lake has an increase of 5 meters in elevation geometric, totaling 30,19 meters, and a flooded area of 0,16 Km², of which 49.3% is arable land and 38.32 forest vegetation. Finally there is the total power which is 1.68 MW.
