Níveis de ação no controle de Spodoptera frugiperda (Lepidoptera: Noctuidae) na cultura do milho

Abstract

The Spodoptera frugiperda has caused considerable damage to corn crops and the control of this pest has become increasingly difficult. As an alternative to this problem, is a perfomance of pest monitoring, which consists of using appropriate techniques to control pests, making applications of products at times in which pest control is more efficient. This work, the Davis scale was used as a parameter to estimate the levels of insect damage in the corn crop in rural properties in the Pato Branco region. Testing field assessments were performed using this scale to determine the need for chemical intervention. In addition, it was verified when farmers carried out the control according to their adopted work routine. In this way, was verified the non-adoption of the threshold level in the management decisions of S. frugiperda due to the non-realization of the monitoring.
