Estudo da composição arbóreana na área central do município de Medianeira-PR

Abstract

The present study aimed to identify the tree species of two avenues located in the central region of the city of Medianeira-PR, considering the limiting characteristics for the use in the afforestation. The identification was made through the collection of material for afforestation and later identification next to the herbarium of the Federal University of Technology - Paraná UTFPR, Campus Medianeira. The identification of the characters considered inadequate for the use in the afforestation was done based on bibliographical research. Were identified 31 (thirty-one) species belonging to 1 (eighteen) families.The main limiting characteristics for the afforestationwere the following: exotic species, very aggressive root system and large fruits.It can be inferred that the afforestation of the studied avenues requires better planning, and a comprehensive afforestation plan is required for the city of Medianeira-PR, as a way to avoid damages to the population and municipal infrastructure.
