Consórcio de Tifton 85 e amendoim forrageiro no Sudoeste do Paraná

Abstract

One of the alternatives to improve forage mass production and its nutritional quality is the integration between grasses and legumes, due to the biological nitrogen fixation and the increase in the protein content of the pasture. The objective of the experiment was to evaluate the forage production and the morphological composition of Tifton 85 (Cynodon spp.) On planting closely or consortium with Forage Peanut (Arachis pintoi). The experiment was carried out at the Universidade Tecnológica Federal do Paraná, Campus Dois Vizinhos. An area of six pitches of 225 m² each was delimited. The experimental design was a randomized block design with two treatments and three replicates. The treatments consisted of Tifton 85 cultivated of estremely form and Tifton 85 integrated with Peanut Forrageiro. It was determined the dry matter production, forage mass and height of the pasture before grazing, forage mass and forage height after grazing, also evaluating the morphological composition separating the components: leaf, stalk, senescent material, inflorescence, legume and other species of spontaneous growth. No significant differences were found for productivity in the consortium between Tifton 85 and forage peanut. However, a difference was found for the botanical components: leaf blade, stem and senescent material.
