Proposta de dimensionamento e implantação de wetlands construídos em sistema individual de tratamento de esgoto sanitário

Abstract

The situation in Brazil, regarding to pollution of rivers and public fountainheads, offers the population poor sanitation conditions. This is common in rural areas or those in urban sprawl where there is still no distribution network, being necessary in these cases, individual solutions for each household. A technology that has stood out among the possible alternatives in decentralized wastewater treatment systems is the implantation of constructed wetlands as a complementary treatment of septic tank effluent. Considering that, this paper presents a proposal of a system for wastewater treatment for future implantation in a hotel business in the city of Curitiba, Paraná. Parameters have been established to direct the design and the implantation of constructed wetlands with vertical saturated flow. The media chosen for the filtration process in the system is composed of gravel and coarse sand layers, where plant species of Zantedeschia aethiopica, Canna x generalis, and Hedychium coronarium will be grown. The study desires to contribute to society in general by offering an efficient solution in ecological sanitation, which aims to meet the social and environmental needs of technologies focused on the maintenance of the environment and the balance with human interactions, and to a better distribution of the natural resources in Brazil
