Plano de controle ambiental – PCA – em uma área de extração de areia

Abstract

The paper presents the preliminary studies for the formatting of the Environmental Control Plan - ECP in an enterprise of sand extraction on the banks of the river São João, near the border cities of Guaratuba-PR and SCGaruva. The ECP is an environmental study that includes the presentation of the project, identifying the impacts of these activities and proposed control measures, minimization and compensation of impacts. Mining is one of the basic sectors of the economy of virtually all countries and especially in Brazil. According to the Brazilian Mineral Yearbook of the National Department of Mineral Production, the value of mineral production in Brazil reached the mark of about $ 31.5 billion in 2005. The methodology applied in this study was based on literature review concerning the issue and in field visits to project area for the analysis of the current situation. Interviews were conducted with those responsible for enterprise and the area in order to obtain information about the project that will be installed on site. The data collected during the survey stage of environmental aspects and impacts were divided into frames for individual analysis of each impact. Could be found various environmental impacts associated with sand extraction activity and was considered the most significant removal of soil and characterization of the landscape. The proposed mitigation measures include maintenance of existing forest area on the ground, and the rearrangement of soil and control of noise pollution.
