Abstract

This paper presents a case study carried out in a company of the automotive line regarding the subject "Energy Efficiency". It consists of rationalize the use of the electric energy, essential input to all of the sectors of the economy, resulting in diminution in the cost of the electricity bill. Analyzing the better form of contracting of the electric energy according to the in force norms. Evaluating the correction of the factor of power through the determination of a bank of capacitors in order to minimize the charge by low power factor. It suggests the metallic vapor light bulbs substitution utilized in the sector of the office by modules of LED Acrich2, technology that permits the reduction in the consumption of electric energy and provides the reduction of the maintenance of the lighting system. Verification of the efficiency of the main electric machines utilized in the company as electric motors of the automotive elevators and exhaust fans, comparing with high-efficiency motors and verifying the possibility of change of those machines. As well as the analysis of the air compressed system and of the air conditioner system. That case study results in evaluations and suggestions that generate cost-cuttings, as well as in the economy of the energy resource.
