Construção e estudo de uma caixa acústica bookshelf

Abstract

In order to bring the context of DIY (do it yourself) acoustic boxes closer to the brazilian reality, this paper intends to be used as help for a better understanding of this vast and complex subject. Starting off of the loudspeaker operation principles, the interaction of its electrical, mechanical and acoustic systems is examined; also, the Thiele-Small model and parameteres are presented, as they work as a tool for the study, project and construction of a sound reproduction system, which is the main objective of this work. In sequence, different models of acoustic box are discussed, as well as methods for obtaining the box characteristics, as its internal volume or the desired kind of response (sound signature). From the bibliographic survey, it is then achieved an objective sequence of ideas that helps one to understand the relation between the different physical components of a loudspeaker and acoustic box set; making its construction and analysis possible.
