Conservatório de música erudita de Curitiba

Abstract

In Brazil after the military dictatorship music education declined in the public education system. In order to encourage the community into music studies the Conservatory will supply the need for a suitable environment for musical education. The purpose of this work is to help understand this environment. Based on researches on the importance of learning music, and how music education institutions are organized. The research also emphasizes how music has a way to get children off the streets and alleviate mental disorders. After learning about the local context, the proposal of these work is to design building in the São Francisco neighborhood, in Curitiba. Once designed the objective is the formation of leading musicians, as well as engaging society in the practice and appreciation of erudite music.
