A praça como coração da cidade: uma proposta de centralidade para o Capão Raso em Curitiba

Abstract

The research makes an analysis of the southern structural sector of Curitiba. Focusing on understanding the needs of the area in order to propose an urban public space embed with chance encounter features. This project also aimed to create a new centrality to a hitherto forgotten area in the midst of the urban city evolution. The investigation aims to initiate a process of evaluation of its use and socio occupation to feed back proposals of projects with the same focus guidelines. So, here to study the ways of use and appropriation within the radius space defined as the immediate surroundings of the Capão Raso Terminal in Curitiba. This work aims contributing to create a database on the complex issue of centrality and the city heart as a legitimate urban experience, starting from a significant project to be carried out in these fields of study, constituting a reflection on projetual intervention proposals for preservation and induction of growth that includes the maintenance of the memory and the recovery of degraded and underused urban areas.
