Retrofit para habitação social na região central de Curitiba

Abstract

This research presents the theoretical basis for the production of the retrofit project of a housing complex in the central region of Curitiba, Paraná. The present work proposes a research that seeks to deal with two problems, the phenomenon of the emptying of urban centers seeking to understand their possible problems, such as the huge amount of abandoned buildings, insecurity, and inhospitality of the population. And also analyze the production of social housing in the country that becomes ineffective while most of it can reproduce projects without architectural quality and inserts these housing sets in locations away from urban centrality. The aim of this work is to propose a possible solution to the convergence of these two problems, with a social-interest housing project through retrofit (action aimed at adapting an old construction to new technologies and uses) of an abandoned building in the central region of Curitiba. As a result, produce housing the low-income population, aiming at reducing the housing deficit and at the same time bringing more vitality, experience and presence of people in the central area, which lives an era of decadence throughout the country.
