Abstract

The main focus of this study was to analyze the economic viability of implementing a mini-market in the central area of city of Londrina / PR. The location was chosen because of its potential for consumption, population density and commercial movement, which favor the development of food retail businesses. The research used was quantitative, which seeks to measure variables and obtain numerical data based on the creation of a business plan. the creation of a business plan, including market analysis, operational projections and financial projections and financial forecasts to assess sustainability in the short and medium term. The use of financial analysis tools was fundamental to verify the viability of the business. Indicators such as Net Present Value (NPV), the Internal Rate of Return (IRR), the payback time for the return on investment, as well as profitability and profitability indices, made it possible to potential return on capital invested. The use of this data goes beyond a mere economic estimate, as they represent the basis for strategic decisions, enabling the entrepreneur to understand the risks involved, the time needed for financial return and the efficiency of the business over time. The importance of this information lies in the fact that it provides a concrete the financial health of the project. With the results obtained, it was possible to conclude that the business has the potential for a positive. The analysis shows that the initial investment should be recovered in approximately four years and five months. In addition, a profitability rate of 114,43 % is projected at the end of the fifth year, which implies a return of R$1,14 for every real invested, demonstrating its financial attractiveness. It is then possible to check whether the business will be able to sustain itself, expand and generate profit in a realistic scenario. In this way, the analysis of the indicators not only supports the decision to invest, but also serves as a guide for the future planning and management of the mini-market, ensuring that it develops consistently and in line with the demands of the local market.
