Abstract

This work aimed to investigate the economic impact of the Music Workshop in Curitiba. There is a section with data on typical tourism activities, with a view to justifying the activities to promote promotion in Paraná. Another part presents data about the Music Workshop. An analysis of the variables is made taking into account the historical characteristics of the Music Workshop, as well as the social and peculiarities they provide for the municipality in which the event takes place. The study is based on data on previous editions of the event and considering the investment made by the City of Curitiba, the following impact factors are also taken into account: municipal tax collection (ISS) and services performed in the execution of the event and distribution spending. Thus, for the development of the aforementioned study, the following specific objectives were set: to verify the amount of direct investment in the production and execution of the Music Workshop in Curitiba, as well as how the money is distributed in the activities of the event. , investigated in relation to the activities and sectors that are involved in the achievement of the event. The measurement of the economic and financial return arising from primary and secondary activities was even partially carried out. Still, it was found that the Municipality does not disburse the expenses in their entirety, in reality, there is collaboration from the State and the Union. Still, in relation to investments, it was found that there is the participation of private companies. However, the amount of participation has not been clarified, given the limited data and information provided by Organs responsible bodies. It is concluded that the event produces in the budget of the Municipality of Curitiba, mainly due to the fact that it promotes the economic movement of several sectors of the economy, especially the tourist. It became clear the importance of the event, through the comparison when it was absent in 2017, as presented in the body of the text.
