As mulherzinhas de Alcott: um olhar sobre as diferentes representações femininas na tradução do romance Little women

Abstract

The present paper focuses on women's representation in the translation of the novel Little Women (2014) by Louisa May Alcott. The principal objective is to identify the different feminine representations through the March sisters in translation Mulherzinhas (2019), analyze the marks of social roles of nineteenth century women in the original text, and compare them with marks in the translated text. For this, was used theoretical feminist as Pierre Bouridieu (2020), Michelle Perrot (2019), and Simone de Beuavouir (2019) promote the understanding of feminine roles in the nineteenth century and how the women were seen in epoch society. For the purpose to include the Translation Studies, was used Itamar Evan-Zohar (2013) reflects on literary polysystems, Lawrence Venuti (2002), and Susan Bassnett which was the basis for getting reflections. For comparative analysis, were selected excerpts from the original text and your respective translations as samples for comparative analysis based on the typology of Lanzetti et al. (2009) procedures. Thus, was considered the procedures used by the translater to establish if the translation has a foreignization or domestication tendency, concluding, therefore, that the translation Mulherzinhas (2019) contains domesticating tendencies.
