| Resumo: | O espaço público é elemento base das cidades. É o local onde se constitui a vida cotidiana e as relações entre os indivíduos, tendo papel fundamental na formação da identidade. Nesse contexto, a presente monografia traz os conceitos e discussões que permeiam o tema e explora uma das tipologias de espaço público: a rua. O trabalho tem como área de estudo as ruas do bairro Rebouças, em Curitiba. A região é a antiga zona industrial da cidade, tendo se desenvolvido a partir da instalação da Estação Ferroviária no fim do século XIX. O bairro foi essencial no desenvolvimento da cidade de Curitiba, abrigando diversas indústrias e outros equipamentos relacionados à atividade fabril. Ao final do século XX, a área passou por um esvaziamento, se consolidando como lugar de passagem, desprovido de vocação e com pouca atratividade sob perspectiva do espaço público. Tendo em vista a potencialidade da presença das instituições de ensino superior UTFPR, UFPR e IFPR em edificações históricas, este trabalho propõe um projeto urbano nas ruas que as conectam: Avenida Silva Jardim, Rua João Negrão e Rua Rockefeller. Para isso, é primeiramente estudado o espaço público, suas transformações ao longo do tempo, seus fatores de qualidade e sua relação com a formação de identidade e memória coletivas. Também é abordada a questão do patrimônio industrial e a significação do lugar. Em seguida, é realizado o diagnóstico da área de intervenção, procedida da análise de três estudos de caso. A partir dos critérios observados nesses projetos, somados ao diagnóstico e aos conceitos trabalhados, são traçadas diretrizes projetuais visando a qualificação do espaço e maior atratividade das ruas. |
| Abstract: | Public space is the base element of cities. It is the place where everyday life and the relationships between individuals are constituted, playing a fundamental role in shaping our identity. In this context, this monograph brings the concepts and discussions that permeate the theme and explores one of the categories of public space: the streets. The streets of the Rebouças neighborhood, in Curitiba, are chosen as the study area for this work. The region is the old industrial area of the city, which developed since the installation of the train station at the end of the 19th century. The neighborhood was essential in the development of the city of Curitiba, containing several industries and other equipment related to the manufacturing activity. At the end of the 20th century, the area was emptied, transforming into a place of passage, lacking a vocation and with unattractive public spaces. Considering the presence of higher education institutions UTFPR, UFPR and IFPR in historic buildings, this work proposes an urban project in the streets that connect them: Avenida Silva Jardim, Rua João Negrão and Rua Rockefeller. To do só, the concepts of public space, its transformations over time, its quality factors and its relationship with shaping both collective identity and memory are studied. The matter of industrial heritage and the significance of the places are also addressed. Then, a diagnosis of the intervention area is executed, followed by the analysis of three case studies. Based on the criteria observed in these projects, added to the diagnosis and the approached concepts, design guidelines are drawn up aiming to qualify the space and enhance the streets’ attractiveness. |
