“A fúria travesti e a festa de ser travesti”: uma análise do realismo mágico em O parque das irmãs magníficas, de Camila Sosa Villada

Abstract

All representation and discussion about LGBTQIA+ narratives in academia are still few to overcome the stigmas that the community faces on a daily basis. But even so, we think it is extremely important to continue the various debates and literary analysis involving these characters, especially when we take into account that the stories are told by members of the community, as is the case of Argentinian writer Camila Sosa Villada. In this sense, the main objective of this research work is to analyze the identity of the travesti, in Bad Girls (2021), a novel from which the writer shares the story (with autobiographical nuances) about a group of travestis, told in through a subverted and deconstructed magical realism. For this, the research took into account some concepts such as gender identity and social representation developed by Serge Moscovici (1981), as well as some points of Queer Theory, especially from the writings by Judith Butler (2003), and, finally, the studies on magical realism, by Arturo Uslar Pietri (1968), among other authors, for an analysis of how the social insertion of the characters converse with the literary movement in Latin America. We believe that by using figures of speech, the author seeks to tell about the arduous struggle of travestis, loaded with their social positions, in a symbolic way, capable of leading the reader to understand this issue even more deeply.
