Avaliação do carbono fixado e influência das variáveis meteorológicas no crescimento de Araucaria angustifolia (Bertol) O. Kuntz em um plantio florestal na Região Sudoeste do Paraná

Abstract

The present work aims to evaluate the diameter increase, the influence of meteorological variables and the annual carbon storage capacity of the aerial part of individuals planted with Araucaria angustifolia, in the municipality of Dois Vizinhos – PR. The maximum age of 42 years was identified for the individuals sampled, through the analysis of growth rings, IMA and diametric ICA values were obtained, with the maximum ICA found to be 3.2 cm/year and the maximum IMA of 1.62 cm/year. The ICA and IMA values found together with the average DAP were subjected to Pearson's correlation analysis, being related to the climatic variables, Temperature (°C), Relative Humidity (%), Radiation (kJ/m²) and Precipitation (mm), where we identified a positive correlation between the ICA for the radiation variable and a negative correlation for the relative humidity and precipitation variables, while the IMA did not identify positive correlations. The analysis of carbon absorption by the aerial part showed a value of 0.0046 (tCO2e/year) per individual, bringing a value of 2.73 (tCO2e/ha.year-1), with the period of greatest carbon absorption occurring at 30 years of planting age.
