Mulheres e computação: análise interseccional de um curso de graduação

Abstract

Women’s participation in the Technology field is historically low and has shown a negative growth tendency in the last few years. This research aimed to analyse the participation of women in the Information Systems bachelor’s course at UTFPR Curitiba campus, seeking to identify and understand the trends of enrollment and graduation of these women. The research basis involves a quantitative analysis of data extracted from the course’s academic system from 2016 to 2021 and a qualitative analysis of the course’s current Pedagogic Project, through document analysis, aiming to identify if gender and its intersection with other social questions were taken into account in its development and whether the new curriculum influenced the enrollment and graduation dynamics in the years after its establishment. The results were discussed based on literature from both the Technology and Feminist fields, with emphasis given to intersectional analysis, só that gender is considered in relation to race, ethnicity and socioeconomic status.
