Reestruturação do projeto físico e lógico da rede local de ensino do DAINF na UTFPR câmpus Curitiba

Abstract

The Local Education Network – RLE is like a subsector of the Academic Department of Informatics that provides laboratories for undergraduate and graduate classes on the Curitiba campus of UTFPR and also for some national and international events in the area of Information Technology. That said, it is extremely important to have a well-structured and aligned local education network that serves students and teachers to maintain the quality of teaching on campus. Currently, the RLE is configured in a functional way and has met the existing demands in a satisfactory manner. But its network administration and management is dependent on some software that is already out of date and that has no update. In addition, some of its equipment is not using important features that would increase security and optimize the operation of the network. The existing problems and failures, plus the bottlenecks and security holes detected by this work could be minimized or even remedied by restructuring the physical and logical infrastructure projects of networks. The purpose of this restructuring is to provide repairs to this network by implementing and instantiating improvements such as: segmentation of the network in VLANs for all laboratories and administration rooms; access point user authentication; dedicated firewall both on the internal and external network; gateways with dedicated and manageable equipment; and network monitoring software with a web interface for easy viewing and administrator access.
