Resumo: | SARS-Cov-2 is the name of the RNA virus detected in December 2019 in the Wuhan city, China, and is the cause of the disease called coronavirus that spread wordwide in the year 2020. A World Health Organization (WHO) on March 11, 2020, declared level of contamination as a pandemic, forcing countries to countries to take more severe measures to combat the spread of the virus. The disease in its most severe form infects the lungs and compromises the patient’s respitarory respitarory sistem, making it difficult for the patient to breathe, and consequently leading to death. Soon it became necessary to use hospital ventilators to perform mechanical ventilation mechanical ventilation in infected patients who cannot breathe alone. But with the finite number of beds in hospitals and a dramatic increase increase in the number of infected patients, the number of ventilators could not meet the have not been able to meet the needs of the patients. With high demand and low supply, the prices and delivery times of hospital ventilators have increased resulting in preventable deaths that would not have happened if ventilators if ventilators were available. To try to contribute to society and help in this chaotic period, a Federal Technological University of Paraná, both from Ponta Grossa, got together Ponta Grossa, got together and proposed the development of a low-cost mechanical ventilator of low cost and fast construction, based on a windshield wiper DC motor motor, donated by the partner company. This work details the creation of the electronic circuit for the development of an automated Ambu-type mechanical ventilator. |
