Avaliação dos aspectos e impactos ambientais nos laboratórios da UTFPR Campus de Francisco Beltrão

Abstract

The public and privates organizations must looking for ways to improve the environmental and social processes of them, to adapt to the topicality. The environmental management has spread to all organizational sectors, public and privates, promoting initiatives and innovative strategies for sustainable development. Based on this, the main purpose of this article is raise and assess the environmental aspects and impacts through the FMEA tool (Failures Mode and Effects Analysis), in the UTFPR laboratories on the Francisco Beltrão’s University Campus. The application of the FMEA will be from the characterization of UTFPR laboratories, through site visits, consultation of plans and documents, interviews with managers and employees and analysis of technical project information. Were characterized 17 laboratories, identifying what goes in and what goes out, as well as the equipment used in the laboratories (in general). After the characterization, were found 20 different environmental aspects there and it were organized according to the environmental risk index, which assesses risk priority, it means, the higher the degree of this index, the higher the control priority. Among these aspects, eight were considered high environmental risk, four were considered medium environmental risk and eight were considered low environmental risk. After the survey of environmental aspects and impacts, were realized diagnoses about environmental management of the laboratories current situation, pointing out the adopted controls, suggesting improvements or indicating ways to control. In conclusion, it was possible to acquire more information about the processes and services of the UTFPR – FB laboratories, furthermore, several environmental aspects were observed without proper control, and the university should create action plans to avoid this. As a suggestion for future projects, a more detailed study can be carried out when the laboratories are functioning normally.
