Abstract

With the increasing search for the efficiency, it has been required from the business organizations a search for the decrease of every and any waste. In the productions, the availability of machines has been required in extremes that weren’t expected in past times. So, every and any production breaks, even for setups are being attacked. This study aims the presentation of an exploratory research about the potential impacts when using techniques of production scheduling, setup and just in time philosophy in the stamping process from a metal-mechanic company in Pato Branco/PR. The research investigates the direct or indirect implications from these methods during the production time, considering the productive capacity in the process, the setups made and therefore the average cost of a standstill machinery. To make this project, in loco method was used to collect the data, as well as exchange records during the observation period of a production machine.
