Análise da governança corporativa na gestão de uma cooperativa de crédito

Abstract

This paper aimed to verify the contribution of Corporate Governance in the management of a credit cooperative. The methodology used was divided into two phases. In the first phase, the historical development of the main themes of this work was done: credit cooperativism and Corporate Governance. He presented through research the origin and the progress of these in the national and international scope, showing its main events and changes. At this stage a research was also done on the insertion of Corporate Governance in Credit Cooperatives. In the second phase, a research was carried out to find out which contributions Good Corporate Governance practices provided to a credit union. The company under study was the credit cooperative Coopcrédito Singular, designated with this denomination for issues that involve the secrecy of information. The evidence obtained for the research was raised through formal terms such as magazines, newsletters and books, and through semi-structured research. It was observed that good corporate governance practices in a credit union are essential for the management of a credit union.
