Objetificação e invisibilidade no futebol: relato de árbitras e jogadoras do futebol amador

Abstract

Football is the most popular sport in the world. Watched by thousands of people all over the world, either by going to the stadiums or through television, it is a sport that attracts Brazilians and became popular from the twentieth century, but it was only in the XXI century that women managed to have more space in a predominantly male sport. The objective of the present study was to know the opinion of referees and soccer players about the objectification of women in the sporting context. The methodology proposed in this study was the qualitative approach, with interviews with four referees and four soccer players. The analysis of data was made through content analysis from the transcription of the answers. Regarding the results, the objectification and invisibility of women in football is evident, as well as the violence that referees and women players suffer from being active in a popularly male sport. Even after years since the first conquest of women on the field and recently the athlete Marta became the highest scorer in the history of the Cups, between men and women, there are still remnants of a past in which historically perpetuates that football is a space of male domination and aimed exclusively at men.
