Abstract

The human being, as a social animal, tends to communicate through words, signs and attitudes, thereby he can show his knowledge, will, feelings and figure out if he’ll be accepted or get the attention of the group. That’s why the teacher needs to communicate in his or her best way with the students, besides search different and didactic ways to show how knowledge can be attractive to them. The present work aims at showing the messages contained in simple body movements of the students, so the teacher can develop wise strategies that gives effectiveness in his or her classes. It will show the concepts in the body and non-verbal language, demonstrating the relationship between the physiological and social-emotional state in the contribution of the body language, explaining how different reactions of the human body can be seen when people communicate, with the focus in the management of the classes. A teacher in a classroom will have his or her actions and reactions analyzed at every moment, so that he or she can determinate the relationship between student and teacher. Based on this, the study investigated what Science teachers and residents understand about the theme, verifying if the present subject has already been discussed in the graduation or acquired in other experiences, besides analyzing the issue of the body language in teaching, evaluating whether the presence of the body language is noticeable daily in the classroom. Using a questionnaire, it was possible to know that teachers are aware of the matter of body language and nonverbal postures in learning and at their relationship with the student.
