Análise da percepção ambiental frente ao gerenciamento de resíduos sólidos do município de Saubara - BA

Abstract

One of the major problems faced by humanity, is consumerism which implies among others, the uncontrolled increase of solid waste, a direct reflection of a society that increases over time. The absence or inefficiency of the management of solid waste in urban space consists of several problems in half, soil, water, air and the proliferation of insects, as has been intensifying the impacts to the environment and human health pollution. Considering these aspects, the work that follows aims to analyze the environmental perception front of urban solid waste management. To meet the objective of this study emphasize the environmental awareness of residents in Saubara - BA, located in the All Saints Bay Area, about certain issues related to garbage management (collection, transportation and disposal) and environmental impacts linked him. To do so, we performed literature search, questionnaires, field visits, and photographic records. The urban area of that municipality is responsible for concentrating a considerable number of 11,201 inhabitants (IBGE, 2013), and, moreover, welcomes people from neighboring towns who seek the same by virtue of goods and services, increasing the amount of solid waste produced, a factor that comes to worsen due to the inadequate management that is given to them in order to be deposited in a simplified landfill, causing great damage to the environment and attracting disadvantaged people seeking to collect recyclable the possibility of obtaining income.
