Avaliar os benefícios da aplicação dos conceitos de manufatura enxuta para a melhoria de processos de fabricação: estudo de caso

Abstract

This research addresses the manufacturing processes improvement using the lean manufacturing concepts. The research shows the impact of the application of lean manufacturing tools such as: Value Stream Map, Elimination of non-value added operations, Autonomation, Multi-operation processes and Line balancing on manufacturing processes of a metal mechanic industry. The main objective of this research was the analysis of the benefits brought by the lean manufacturing concepts in terms of manufacturing processes improvement, the way defined to measure the results was the impact on processes performance indicators such as: Productivity, Lead Time and Work. Besides the measurable savings achieved using the lean manufacturing tools, were achieved also additional improvements as ergonomics and employee’s satisfaction. Was presented also in the work a methodology to systematize and boost the continuous improvement on manufacturing processes, this research also show how the systematic of continuous improvement can be linked to a competitive advantage to the company that implement it. The methodology applied to this research was the action-research because the researcher was actively involved on the issue observed.
