Abstract

As a way to improve the performance of projects in terms of timeliness, quality and productivity, the construction industry have focused on the process of Production Planning and Control (PPC). An important milestone in the development of PCP systems for the construction industry was the introduction of Last Planner production control. The objective of this work is to raise standardized procedures of how to apply the Weekly Schedule in order to guide the production and support the manager in control of work deadlines and civil works projects. The study presents a case of evolution in the use of the Weekly Schedule as a management tool for short-term, with tools to control the medium and long term. The study also focused the development of a standard manual for issuing and updating the Weekly Schedule and documents and reports to support the project manager. The main conclusions point to the importance of good PCP in the effectiveness of planning works and aid in decision-making manager's work.
