A fiscalização no transporte coletivo urbano e a qualidade do serviço: o caso de Curitiba - PR

Abstract

One of the causes of the significant increase in individual transport use in urban centers, is certainly the lack of quality of public transport. The quality of public transport is the result of the adequacy of the service to the user's need. Among the modes of public transport, the bus still performs as a significant alternative to the mobility of the population due to the low cost of implementation and high transport capacity. In the operation of urban transport service by bus, in addition to the drivers and collectors, there is the monitoring agent, which in the case of Curitiba, plays an essential role in the system quality. Thus, the purpose of this article is to diagnose the work of the public transport control staff of the city of Curitiba - PR, exploring their activities and duties, as well as the relationship of this work with the production and quality of service.
