Proposta de plano de emergência em um campus universitário em Curitiba

Abstract

An emergency action plan was elaborated for a University located at Curitiba following actual instructions given by Brazilian and Paraná State technical standards. The main difference between educational institutions and other workplace environments is: there are much more students than employees in educational institutions. Therefore, employees must be trained to assist in emergency situation and to guide students. The most hazardous emergencies were chosen by the technique called probabilistic risk assessment (PRA). The emergency plan was prepared based on this cases and it includes building's information and features besides procedures that must be followed during an emergency. The group of the fire brigade, who are the acting responsible employees during the disaster, was also diagramed. Their major functions are take decisions and remove people from the building in a safe mode. The main emergency demanding spots were located in a risk plant, such as the firefighters' gateway, assembly station and risk points. Furthermore, the available safe egress and evacuation time were estimated using the University building plants. The calculated time is considered high and must be decreased by training and fire drill using the emergency plan as a guide.
